A Dark Knight
11th July 2010, around 11.30AM.
As it was Sunday, I was lazily browsing through all the channels in TV. I was frustrated that I could not kill time with that idiot box. Most English news channels are obsessed with world cup soccer or Srinagar curfew and they were arguing whether it's right to bring army into the issue. I was exhausted and moved to a Tamil news channel, Sun News. The 'Flash' news shown in that channel woke me up. It said, a large dark circle has formed around Sun and people in Chennai, Kanchipuram are witnessing this rare spectacle.
I ran upstairs to check whether we are also able to witness this spectacle. To my utter surprise, Oh My God..I was seeing that..It was like a Dark Knight has come. A large, dark circle was seen around the Sun. And in the borders, rainbow colours were seen. I ran downstairs and alerted my dad, mom & bro to witness this. And also, as always, I didn't forget to take camera. :)
All of us witnessed this spectacle and I also took some snaps.
Astrologists said, it was due to moisture in Earth's atmosphere. I could not understand this theory. If someone knows, please let me know. :)
Enjoy the photos..Oops..I mean the Dark Knight :)

ஸ்ரீராம், எனது ப்ளாக்.
Hi Friends, Pals, everyone,
This is my first post in blog world. Let me introduce myself to this world.
I was born and brought up in Thanjavur, an ancient town in central Tamilnadu, India. Thanjavur is famous for its world known Brahadeeswara Temple aka Big Temple, a UNESCO world heritage site. After completing schooling and degree here I moved to Chennai to start my next innings as a software engineer in Changepond Technologies. I lived here for 4 years.
I thought of moving out of my current job and probably out of Chennai and fortunately got Infosys, Mangalore, Karnataka. For last 4 months I am stationed in Mangalore. Life is going quiet in Mangalore and I like friendly people of this small city and I wish to learn their language which I think will be bit difficult since they speak Tulu. So I am in confused state whether to learn Kannada or Tulu. If people talk Kannada, they invariably mix Kannada with Tulu which ll be difficult to understand. Anyhow I am determined to learn Kannada and also Hindi :)
I am now getting interested in photography and bought a new camera Sony H55 with 14 mega pixel and 10X optical zoom. It is closer I can go if I could not buy a DSLR. I am trying to shoot some really good pics and post in my blog. You can see some of my works in coming weeks. I will try to keep my blog updated with pics. If I am not taking pics, I will try to fill it with my personal/professional things.
Now that, I think I have told enough of my personal things, I am now signing off from this post. Get ready for the pics/posts in this space.
Yours,
Sriram.
